Year-End Wrap-Up!

Fave books, a new interview, and all the holiday romance movies you could want!

Happy New Year!

Well, gang, we made it to the end of 2025. Here’s some news, some favorite books, and some other stuff! Enjoy!

Books Updates!

In 2025, I had two new books published, the first two of my Regency romance series, I Never Forget a Duke and Everything but the Earl. These are closely connected stories, so I recommend reading them in order.

I was featured in Uncaged Romance Reviews! We did an interview about the new Regency series and there’s an excerpt of Everything but the Earl!

The third book in the series is in edits right now, but I don’t know the pub date yet. Check in on my socials for more about that.

Fun Stuff!

I read a lot of books in 2025. As of this writing, I read 53 books just for fun (as opposed to work/for review). I felt like, rather than just giving you a list, I’d group some things into categories:

Returning Favorite: I basically love everything Ali Hazelwood writes, and this year I learned that apparently I’ll follow her across genres. In 2025, I read Bride (vampire/werewolf fated mates!), Deep End (college divers, mild kink), and Problematic Summer Romance (age gap).

Best New Discovery: I loved B.K. Borison’s First-Time Caller, which is a spin on Sleepless in Seattle. Borison calls herself a “cozy romance writer” in her bio, which seems to mean her books are fairly light on conflict, but sometimes that’s what you need. I just finished her holiday romance Good Spirits, which also delighted me.

Other Thoughts:

I had very complex feelings about The Favorites by Layne Fargo, a novel that I ultimately decided was very good but that has a protagonist I had a hard time with. (It’s about ice dancers and their very messy personal relationships.)

I thought The Emperor and the Endless Palace by Justinian Huang was a beautiful book. It’s hard to describe; there are three related plots that happen in different time periods but are told in parallel through the novel, and it soon becomes clear that these are different incarnations of the same people destined to encounter each other in each lifetime, with a lot of Chinese history and mythology woven in.

I finally read Fourth Wing toward the end of last year. In March, I read Iron Flame and Onyx Storm back to back. I find the series engaging and entertaining, but it’s pretty violent, and reading those two books in a row was intense.

Roland Rogers Isn’t Dead Yet by Samantha Allen is probably the most imaginative book I read this year. In it, the spirit of a dead man is stuck in his old house, which is being rented by a lonely man, and they have a romance of sorts. (Warning: It’s not a romance novel in the genre sense.)

I read a lot of sports romance this year. My favorite was probably The Last Man on Earth by Sarina Bowen (hockey), but I also really liked I’ll See You at the Finish Line by Zac Hammett (rowing), which I understand was just optioned to be a movie, so that’s fun. (And before you ask, yes, I’m watching Heated Rivalry. It took the show a couple of episodes to really hook me—hockey is not one of the many sports I follow—but I’m in now. I started reading the series on which it is based, so I guess this is my life now.)

Holiday Romance Movie Time!

You may or may not know that I love a Hallmark movie. I’ve been writing reviews/recaps of a bunch every year for the last five years. I just posted my new reviews for this years movies; we’ve got bickering siblings, football fans, a cat cafe, and people who were famous in the ‘90s divorcing.

Since we live in a magical era of streaming and the Hallmark+ app has I think every movie they’ve ever made (if you’re a fan, a subscription is 100% worth it in December) I also compiled a master list of every one of these movies I’ve reviewed.

I hope you all have a happy holiday season and a wonderful 2026.
